The former Elyria librarian died July 9 and probate lists an estate valued at 63 714 with personal property 223, securities 51080, and accounts receivable 12411. Niece Muriel Spinks of Willoughby is executrix.
Two women were injured when a car left the road on Rt 301 near Parsons Road at 9 a m. After distraction by a passenger checking the side of the road the vehicle struck a fence and a head injury was reported. Mrs Mary Kalisz 43 of Lorain was driving north and received minor cuts. Paramedics treated both victims at Elyria Memorial Hospital.
Mt. Zion Ladies Aid and Mission Society hosts a noon Christmas luncheon with devotions by the pastor. Miss Verne Ankermag presides at the business meeting, and Luther League members plus others plan neighborhood caroling and a 7 PM church gathering, ending with a party.
Avon Lake will host Rev Cantor, pastor of the Avon Lake West Shore Methodist Church, as the speaker at the Kiwanis Club meeting tomorrow night. He will discuss Christmas, per program chairman Norman Schroeder. Regular meetings are Thursdays at 6 10 p m at the Saddle Inn. the next session is January 8 due to holidays.
Eaton Township trustees approve a revolutionary foam assisted fire attack system for residential blazes. A 1,500 gallon pumper from Harry Sutphen and Associates will use five gallon foam cans at roughly 23.73 each, enhancing fire spread control while keeping furniture and occupants safer.
