Perot weighs buyout option for Fisher Guide plant
Dallas billionaire Ross Perot says his buyout deal with General Motors may bar a local purchase of Elyria Ohio Fisher Guide operations. He has not yet received a formal buyout proposal from workers seeking to buy the plant and financing. The Elyria facility, the city’s largest manufacturer, was put on the market December 5 with tax value at 21.1 million and potential sale price around 100 million. Perot left GM after criticising its bureaucracy and car quality.
