Three Children Die in Columbus Fire
In Columbus Ohio three children aged four six and two were burned to death when a coal stove lit by the father in a bedroom sparked a blaze. Seven other relatives fled the one story frame house as the building burned. The victims were Reeves children Robert Lee Marie Esther and Walter Blackman grandson of Reeves. City Employee Critically Injured in Unusual Accident
Charles Sanders aged 63 of 109 Tannery Street, a city street department worker, was critically injured at the street department building on West River Street. A platform tipping while moving four drums of calcium chloride caused him to be wedged against a roof brace and lifted six feet into the air. Sanders was treated at Elyria Memorial Hospital.

Columbus Ohio December 1 The state takes cognizance of livestock thefts described by Governor Davey as organized gangs of the twentieth century cattle rustlers Two bills were introduced in the House to stiffen penalties One by Republican Leader William M McCulloch would punish theft of cattle hogs sheep or goats with 500 to 2000 dollars or 5 to 25 years in prison or both It would also punish trespassing to steal livestock with fines 50 to 500 dollars and 30 days to six months in prison It also calls for permits on livestock transported by motor vehicles A second bill by Rep A Lee Fair would impose 2? to 15 years for thefts over five dollars and 90 days to six months or a 300 dollar fine for smaller thefts Both measures were sent to the judiciary and agriculture committees respectively They seek emergency passage for public peace and safety
