Lorain City Council may seek state approval to designate downtown as an entertainment district to spur restaurant openings. They might also vote on tax breaks for a 55 plus housing complex on Jaeger Road and an adjoining retail complex. Events include Santa photos and museum reopenings with public programs across Lorain and nearby towns.

Police arrested 58 year old Richard Bartunek of 800 block Howell St for drunken driving after a stop sign violation on Lakebreeze Road and Ferndale Drive in Sheffield Lake. He failed a field sobriety test and had a BAC of 0.13 and faced additional citations for loud exhaust and seat belt and stop sign violations. A counterfeit $20 bill was later reported at Speedway 4208 Lake Road as payment for gas.
