Ohio Senate approves minor tanning consent bill
The bill requires a parent to sign a consent form for 16 and 17 year olds to tan with a salon operator present. Younger minors under 16 must have a parent present for each session. A 26 to 4 Senate vote advances the measure with penalties for operators and licenses for violations. The form warns of health risks and the state Board of Cosmetology would regulate salons using tanning chemicals.
