Judge reasserts concerns over ouster of Rural Water board trustee
Elyria Lorain County Common Pleas Judge James Burge renewed worries that a board majority can remove minority members and replace them with allies. He criticized the bylaws allowing removal for being a “trouble maker” and questioned whether the water authority acted within Ohio law when removing Pittsfield Township Trustee Mark McConnell. He noted the role of township governments in appointing representatives and warned the bylaws may override those rights. Burge planned a final ruling later in the week.
