U.S. Sues Ohio Employment Service Over Bias

The Justice Department sues the Ohio State Employment Service and its administrator Willard Dudley in U.S. District Court for racial discrimination under the Civil Rights Act. Not Forgotten toy drive aims to fill two boxes

Two weeks remain to donate for the Not Forgotten Christmas toy drive in Elyria. Donations to The Chronicle Telegram lobby box and Midway Mall box fund Salvation Army efforts for about 1000 needy children. Ridgeville votes down levy prompt school cuts

Clearview School District residents approved a 7 mill levy by 604 to 363, adding about 126000 annually. The district with 2000 students will use funds mainly for teacher salaries and begin salary of 6200, after a split board vote previously blocked the measure.

Flashers Installed at Fatal Route Intersection

Flashlights were installed this morning at the Rt 301 and 18 intersection where six people died in a Thanksgiving Day crash. A Columbus division state highway crew will stay on site until completion. The flasher, promised by Oct. 28, will show red on Rt 31 and yellow on Rt 13. Township officials had sought the signal for seven years.
