Fireman's face sparks rescue device invention
Roy Lindblade a 51 year old carpenter from Alsip Illinois designed a water rescue system named Res Q Dek after seeing a frightened fireman on television. The device uses inflatable bags to lift drowning victims and can carry up to 20 people without sinking. Lindblade funded the project from savings and with help from his two sons forming New Products Safety Corporation. Production planned by year’s start with interest from 40 fire departments.
