Fireman saves two cats with oxygen in Carlisle blaze
Carlisle Township Fireman Edward Hess provided life-saving oxygen to two cats rescued from a house fire on Woodside Road. The animals were the sole survivors from a litter of six found at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Forman. Hess, now five years on the force, called it his first such incident.

Board seeks harmony at Admiral King High School
The Lorain school board announced twelve recommendations to foster racial harmony at Admiral King High School at a public meeting.
