FLORENCE An open house honors Mr and Mrs Edgar J Mordoff on Sunday marking their Golden Wedding anniversary. Both lifelong residents of Florence Grange Hall they have been active in Florence Congregational Church Florence Grange Gibson Lodge Frand A M and Wakeman OBS. Mr Mordoff served nine years as Florence Township trustee and is a director of Erie County Mutual Insurance. Hostesses include Juanita Gerber Selah Gerber Ardus Miller and Women's Fellowship members.

Permits Of 3 Lorain County Liquor Spots Suspended
The Ohio Department of Liquor Control suspended liquor permits for three Lorain County establishments. Happy Hour Bar at 2008 Lake Ave received a seven day suspension from Jan 6 to Jan 12 for Sunday sales. Russo-Slav Citizens Club at 516 East 28th St faced a 14 day suspension from Jan 5 to Jan 18 for allowing intoxication on the premises. Italian American Citizens Club at 2015 15th St had a 28 day suspension from Jan 5 to Feb 1 for Sunday alcohol service.

Oven Regulator Ignites Blaze at Garfield Avenue Home
Elyria firefighters were called to 582 Garfield Ave to extinguish a fire traced to a defective oven regulator. Damage limited to the kitchen stove and wall paint. the single story dwelling is owned and occupied by Dennis Spente. Fire crews mopped the kitchen floor as noted in the report.
