Syrian and Egyptian clashes widen Middle East crisis

Syrian troops attacked Israeli engineers near the Golan Heights killing or wounding 10 to 15 men. Cairo announced Egyptian raiders crossed the Suez and overran Israeli forts for 24 hours. Fire claims 78 year old in Lorain home blaze

Fred Cindrosky, 78, of 829 11th St., died of smoke inhalation after a fire started beneath the living room floor. Deputy Coroner Charles Chesner ruled the death. Firemen found him in a chair after entering again with breathing masks. The blaze, caused by faulty wiring, damaged the one story frame house with $6,000 structure and $3,000 contents loss. Fire under control in 17 minutes. firefighter Robert Sprague suffered minor injuries.
