Avon Acres subdivision proposed for Avon Lake

Preliminary drawings show a $9 million Avon Acres subdivision by D and R Construction Co. in Cleveland. The 190 acre project west of Moorewood Road and east of Curtis Drive runs from Lake Road to Walker Road with 360 lots mostly meeting 15,000 square foot standards. Homes are planned in the $25 000 range and a five acre central play area is included.

County Officials Poised to Seek Reelection in 1956

County officers including Sheriff, recorder, two commissioners, clerk of courts, coroner, prosecutor, treasurer and engineer face reelection in 1956 with most incumbents planning to run. Blast Rips Apartment House Killing 35 Feared

A five story Frankfurt apartment building exploded and collapsed early today trapping occupants under brick and debris. Police said 10 dead and seven injured have been rescued with about 25 others feared. Rescue teams and engineers searched collapsed walls as fire did not spread.
