Elyria may see a tax rate cut next year with tentative figures at 29.60 mills from 29.90. The reduction follows removal of 0.35 mills for juvenile detention construction. Final rate requires approval by city council school board and state authorities.

Andrew Ortner Jr. reports an option on a Ridgeville north of Route 20 tract for a private commercial airport to serve Elyria Lorain and surrounding county.
