Lorain Municipal Court hears Angel Arroyo of the 6th Ward plead not guilty to obstructing official business resisting arrest disturbing the peace by intoxication and related charges after police say he was found drunk on Jenee Drive.
Elyria police charged Erique McBerry 20 of Case Avenue and Ethan Schuster 19 of North Abbe Road with felonious assault discharging a firearm into habitation and receiving stolen property after they allegedly fired at a woman’s car and at homes on North Abbe Road Monday night. Three guns were recovered, two reported stolen, and a bullet hole was found in a bathroom window at 673 N Abbe Road.
The Wells family visits The Chronicle-Telegram with toys for Elyria Not Forgotten Box as the drive nears its 60th year. James Wells recalls growing up poor and explains giving back started young, while Lucy Velez notes their long-running support amid annual 8,000 toy goals and Salvation Army coordination.
The Not-Fordston Box drive runs through December 15 with drop-offs 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at The Chronicle lobby Elyria 225 East Ave and a special Saturday window 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Families receive toy gifts books and a food basket for each child 13 and under. James Wells recalls his first donation before his high school departure and marriage.
