Lakes frames of cotton era chemicals in Arctic spread
Ray Hoff of Environment Canada's Center for Atmospheric Research Experiments in Egbert Ontario says bug killer chemicals used on warm weather crops decades ago have shown up in Arctic air. He notes that by 2004 to 2020 many will be gone from the Great Lakes basin, though bans in North America may shift usage to Central America where malaria is a priority. The advisory board belongs to the International Joint Commission formed by the United States and Canada to manage shared waterways.
