Michael Morrison Morrison, 22, of 120 Chestnut St in North Ridgeville, was killed by Elyria Patrolman Michael Killean during an alleged burglary at Kaplan's Furniture, 638 W Broad St. His parents describe him as a good kid with minor prior trouble and say the death may have been unnecessary.
A Rocky Mountain Airways twin engine plane crashed near Buffalo Pass in a blizzard killing one and injuring 21. Survivors huddled in blankets and spare clothes, prayed, cared for an 8 month old, and blocked a fuselage hole with cushions and a wedding dress as rescuers fought through 5 foot snowdrifts to reach the wreckage.
