Salt Shortage and Snow Strain City Plowing
City hall faced mounting complaints as unplowed side streets left residents snowbound. Officials sought 300 tons of salt from International Salt Co. to stretch supplies to two days, while plows prioritized main routes and school buses. Budget cuts reduced street crews, prompting a parking ban on major streets and a plan to review side streets for inclusion in the ban.
