NOAA says BP spill would barely hurt Gulf bluefin tuna
NOAA analysis using two computer models estimates a maximum four percent drop in future tuna spawning from the 172 million gallon spill. The Gulf's bluefin tuna larval population appears only minimally affected, despite oil coating about a fifth of critical spawning habitat. A Houston summit will review Gulf health and restoration, including tuna fate.
