Copters Save 2 in Plane Wreck in Vietnam
In CAM RANH BAY Vietnam Army rescue helicopters plucked two badly injured survivors from a fogbound mountainside six days after a plane crash that apparently killed 42 people. Authorities continued to search for additional victims and determine the cause of the crash.

Car Found In Pond With Five Bodies In Medina
A car containing the bodies of five young persons was found in a farm pond three miles south of Medina Ohio. Deputies said the vehicle, believed stolen from Virginia Beach, was upside down with wheels above water. Two survivors, US Air Force sergeants, were evacuated to Cam Ranh Bay hospital in Vietnam.

Wife of Elyria minister dies in Turnpike crash
Barbara Dilley 25 wife of Rev Dennis Dilley 24 of Rosewood Ave died after a rear wheel and axle from a westbound car struck their vehicle on the Ohio Turnpike. Dilley and their two year old son Daniel survived with minor injuries. the other driver James Maust 35 of Jennerstown Pa was uninjured. The accident remains under investigation. Funeral plans are handled by Jenkins Funeral Chapel Westlake.

Market hits new high as week-long rally continues on Wall Street
New York markets closed at a record for the year with the Dow up 7.53 points to 81,606 amid an 8.29 million share rise, the busiest week ever on the NYSE. Ford UAW bargain at night eyes Monday pact deadline
Ford Motor Co and United Auto Workers bargainers held a first night session as union leaders returned from Toronto and signaled progress toward a three year contract before the midnight Monday strike deadline. Negotiators planned marathon talks through the weekend with a wage package set to average 51 cents per hour first year and three percent in years two and three. The union seeks retroactive pay to Sept 15 while Ford wants payment after all settlements are ratified.
