Lorain County Community College announces winter quarter courses starting the week of Jan 12. Television courses include Oceanus and a survey of US history from 1900 to now, Understanding Human Behavior, and Family Portrait. In-person options cover word processing and Labor Studies focusing on organized labor and workplace skills.
A Lorain seminar titled Computers for Small Business will be held December 16 from 7 to 10 pm at Lorain County Community College. Sponsored by LCCC and the Greater Lorain Chamber of Commerce, it will be led by Richard Gladish of DATA Development and Research Inc. Topics cover choosing computer needs, pricing, salesmen, installation and terminology. Registration runs Monday to Thursday 9 am to 8 pm, Friday 9 am to 4 pm, Saturday 9 am to noon in Room 110 College Center. Deadline is December 9. Lorain County Transit Board received an 8444 grant from the Ohio Department of Transportation to continue the dial-a-ride service. The American Red Cross Lorain County Chapter Vermilion and North Ridgeville each receive portions, as the match to a 27814 federal grant for mini bus operations. More than 75000 people have used the service since September 1979.
