Elyria Air Force mechanic Oborne and his family returned to Bossier City after a tornado struck early Sunday, killing four and destroying their apartment complex. A fast moving blaze in Houston Fifth Ward killed nine in one ghetto household, possibly started by a leaking hose used to divert gas for heat. Four family members escaped as investigators noted the meter was removed and a radiator hose connected gas directly to the house? The kitchen fire consumed the one story frame house within minutes. Surviving ERNEST SOLOMON, 30, said he aided others and broke a window to aid a woman escape. The dead include Carol Boyd, Gloria Boyd, Carl Boyd, Charles Boyd, Daniel Boyd, Willie Boyd, Paula Boyd, Shante Boyd, and Kimberly Boyd. relationships were not yet determined.

Relative sought in shooting death of Sheffield man
A 41 year old Sheffield Township man Fred Fleming was shot and killed Saturday night in what coroner ruled a homicide. Deputies seek a relative as the case is presented to the prosecutor. Fleming was a Torch Motors body asset and active in UAW 425. He leaves a wife Georgia and six children plus siblings and a grandchild. Funeral services are planned at the Toledo Road Church of Christ with burial in Elmwood Cemetery.
