Birmingham woman seriously injured in one car crash
A Birmingham motorist, 19 year old Barbara Jo Payne, fell asleep at the wheel on Route 113 one mile west of Gore Orphanage Road in Henrietta Township. Her car went left of center, struck a road sign, then hit a Lorain Telephone Co pole. She was taken to Allen Memorial Hospital, then transferred to Elyria Memorial Hospital in serious condition with head injuries and a fractured pelvis. No citation issued. She remained in intensive care.

Richard Thomas 18 of 203 Sixteenth St. pleaded innocent in municipal court to larceny disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after police arrested him 15 minutes post 8 a.m. purse snatching.
