Lorain County Fair Draws Largest Attendance Since 2006
The Lorain County Fair reported 131675 attendees across seven days, up from last year’s 113399 and near the 2006 peak of 132421. Fair Director Brian Twining called the week fantastic, noting no Life Flight use beyond demonstrations and generally smooth operations. Scott Drevenek and Zack Smith won demolition derby features. Don Cermak and Dave Skinner won the compact classes. Weather was favorable and crowds enjoyed food and activities.

High-speed Elyria crash leaves two injured
A car speeding on Cleveland Street wrecked, struck a van and another car, then wrapped around a utility pole near 170 Cleveland St. Both men were extricated, flown by Life Flight to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland with critical injuries. Police investigate. no identities released.

Vandal graffiti shocks Lorain youth volunteers at stadium
