Paul Rigda, superintendent of Elyria Schools, defended a proposed new high school against 12 years of critics and asserted the project would change how it is done. He emphasized a failing track record and pledged decisive action to complete the school.
Bay Village police investigated the deaths of Michael Rothgery 42 and his wife Mary 40 found at their Russell Road residence after a welfare check. Autopsies planned. two children from the home were with relatives. Eric Rothgery, Elyria clerk of courts, is Michael’s brother.
