Man stabbed in leg during Lorain dispute
A 21 year old Reeves Avenue man was stabbed in the leg while trying to break up an argument between a man and woman. Police said the incident occurred Thursday near 1 p.m. at a Lorain Drive residence. A 22 year old Lorain Drive man faces aggravated assault and two counts of disorderly conduct, claiming the stabbing was an accident.

Lorain firefighters battled a blaze at a 19th Court duplex owned by Lorain Metropolitan Housing Authority causing an estimated 7000 dollars in damage. The fire started in a first floor utility room at 2028 19th Court shortly after 7 pm. No injuries were reported and the cause was under investigation as suspicious.

Gas station reports possibly phony bills
Elyria police investigate possible counterfeit money found at the Shell Gas Station on Lorain Boulevard. An employee said a cashier discovered two twenty dollar notes with ink smudges near the serial numbers. A police spokesman called the initial bill exam inconclusive.
