Columbus agronomist and OSU professor Don Myers spent the day at the Lorain County Fairgrounds evaluating hay and silage entries. He chews and tastes to assess fermentation, maturity, and digestibility, noting he avoids actually eating the samples. He judged about 45 hay samples and 20 silage entries, with no idea how many grain entries awaited.

Wellington reports on Roberta Balogh and Marie Kline demonstrating quilting during the County Fair from 2 to 4 p.m. at Building 27. Balogh, a Grafton resident, learned quilting in 1983 and now crafts one quilt annually, preferring hand quilting for its personal appeal and durability.
