A spate of robberies strikes Elyria with four incidents this week. Thieves at the Standard Oil tank office on Elm Street stole a Ford truck and oil products valued at 40 to 50 dollars after breaking the front door and windows. Burglar Steals from Penfield General Store
A thief pried open a side window of JC J. Nahn’s general store at Penfield Junction and stole between five and six dollars from the cash drawer and ten to fifteen dollars from a slot machine. Deputy Sheriff Steve Cowle investigated after Nahn heard bottles fall from his room above the window at about one o'clock. The slot machine was recovered the next morning in nearby woods.
