After two years studying Chicago public schools, they find building and housing conditions vary too much to draw definite links between architecture and child health, urging a yardstick of specifications to ensure equal chances for all children.
Over five years a committee report describes a child centered school design improving school plants. It notes difficulty in proving a direct health link but urges standardization of building conditions to address child health issues.
Rev. G. L. Kettenring of First Baptist Church delivered a forceful sermon on "The Lukewarm Church" at a New London service. A Baptist church service drew large crowds from Methodist and Congregational groups as Rev. Kettenring spoke on Esther chapters three and four. The evening featured testimonies, a Wright talk from Savannah, and a solo by Mrs Bowman, with several locals visiting family and friends, including Hertford, Ohio, connections and travel back to Cleveland and Lorain areas.
A Mathas family picnic at Brant's Park in Amherst drew a Sunday crowd on August 26. They enjoyed a basket lunch at noon and planned indoor activities after the meal as part of their cheerful gathering.
