Elyria officials urge more traffic enforcement and a temporary signal on North Abbe Road to manage detoured traffic from the East Side Sewer Relief project. The 78 inch stormwater sewer installation advances toward Whitman Boulevard as Gulf Road remains closed.
As Elyria Schools resume on September 5, officials urge eligible students to ride the bus. The Windsor Elementary and Northwood Westwood middle schools serve neighborhoods near the East Side Sewer Relief project, aiming to reduce traffic on North Abbe Road. John Bragg, 43, was arrested after a three hour standoff on Sugar Ridge Road in North Ridgeville. The SWAT team and armor vehicle were involved. Bragg faced charges of violating a temporary protection order and burglary without injury to any party. Neighbors reported repeated police visits. Bragg’s divorce case and protection order were noted in court records.
Army veteran Jose Navarro of Lorain received a full roof replacement for his home and garage on Homewood Drive. Volunteers from Purple Heart Homes, aided by donated materials from Home Depot, completed the project, with labor by volunteer roofers and ongoing partnerships to assist veterans in need.
