Obstruction denied in Panther raids

CHICAGO AP The special Cook County grand jury indicted Edward V. Hanrahan and 13 other police officials for conspiracy to obstruct prosecution after the 1969 raid in which Black Panther leaders Fred Hampton and Mark Clark were killed. The charges say obstruction of justice was attempted to aid seven Panthers who survived. Justice penalties range up to $1,000 fine and three years for felony, or $1,000 and one year for misdemeanor.

County OKs parking facility plans for 343 vehicles

Explosion at Northern Ireland Electricity Board kills one

An explosion at the Northern Ireland Electricity Board offices on Malone Road Belfast killed one man and injured 32 people, including 27 women and five men, as workers fled a bomb alert.
