Informant key in synagogue bomb plot case
Four Muslim men face charges for a plan to blow up New York synagogues and shoot at planes with a Homeland Security sting using an FBI informant, Shaheed Hussain, whose role as a supposed mastermind as well as his credibility will be tested at a Manhattan federal trial. The defendants deny terrorism ties, claiming the case was entrapment in a staged operation beginning in 2008 with Hussain posing as a wealthy Pakistani contact.
