Bear attack victim died of multiple wounds coroner says

The Coroner's Office ruled Brent Kandra's death from a bear attack in a barn on Marks Road as caused by sharp and blunt trauma from an undisclosed number of wounds. The bear Iroquois was euthanized Saturday. Lorain County residents hold state permits to own exotic Ohio bears and other wildlife.

Famed fiddler brings classic tunes politics to county fair

At the Lorain County Fair grandstand, Charlie Daniels Band delivered a high energy set. Daniels opened with Redneck Fiddlin Man and followed with Drinkin My Baby Goodbye then Legend of Wooley Swamp. He mixed old school country rock with modern guitar solos and boogie vibes in Buckeye State.

Firefighter fights termination after long service in North Ridgeville

An 18 year veteran firefighter Robert Becker fights his Aug 4 termination over a series of incidents. Allegations include critical remarks to staff at a nursing home during an ambulance run a dispute with another rescuer and a profanity laced outburst at a blood donation event.
