Midview football to shift to power ground attack under Sheffield

Midview will field a rugged power oriented offense in 1971 under new head coach Phil Sheffield, a Lakeland Conference veteran from Clearview. Despite a 2-7-1 record last season, Sheffield sees hitters in the lineup and aims to reduce points allowed with a tougher defense as he evaluates guards centers and tackles plus the quarterback race between Bob Crosby and Don Dusky. The Middies open with Fairview and Elyria Catholic before Lakeland play at Wellington, with key players including Ed Kelsey Guy Lilley and Chuck Austin shaping the new two platoon mix.
