Bear attack victim linked to owner's exotic bear story
The bear attack victim, Brent Kandra, was connected to the owner Mazzola who kept exotic animals on his property near the Cuyahoga County line. Mazzola described the bear as a family member and said authorities and family would decide the animal's fate, while noting firefighting response and a non working camera during the incident. The incident follows earlier legal trouble tied to permits and prior offenses involving Mazzola’s Animal Zone stores.
