ITHACA NY Darren Amato of Westlake shot 84 in the final round of the 54 hole American Junior Golf Association tournament at Cornell University. Amato posted 88 and 85 in the first two rounds to finish with 257 in the 15 18 age group. Joshua Cupp won the event with a 220.

Two area keglers fare well in regional
Windsor Ontario hosted the RC Cola Rose Bowl PBA Regional Open last weekend with two area bowlers in the top 15. Brad Saegert of Lorain placed 10th and John Shreve Sr. of Elyria 14th. Saegert totaled 5024 pins in 22 games while Shreve had 4704. Kevin Taber of Toledo won the points title with 5495 but lost the overall crown to Larry Verble of Novi Michigan in the five man rolloff for the championship.
