Bendix-Westinghouse Leads The World In Air Brakes
Bendix-Westinghouse Automo leads Elyria's Bendix-Westinghouse, the only exclusive producer of a complete air brake system, with plants in Berkeley and Oklahoma City and 370 distributors. From 32 workers in 1930 to a peak of 1,894 in 1953, the firm now produces over 200,000 air compressors annually and eyes continued growth as trucking and suburban expansion drive demand for air brake equipment and repair services.
