Four Ohio sales tax classes rise while overall collections dip
State Treasurer Roger W. Tracy reported the week ending August 7 saw Ohio sales tax receipts total 2 971 246 across eight classifications with four groups showing gains from a year earlier. Total for the three day new fiscal year reached 19 008 371, down 1 247 243 from the prior Oscar year period. Automotive and apparel sectors dragged totals, as declines in four groups ranged to 186 474 in autos and 7 370 in apparel, while the four rising groups peaked at 314 117 in chain stores and 40 448 in building services.
