The home of Joseph Carter on Wood Street two thousand feet south of the Elyria city limits was completely destroyed by fire this afternoon. Firemen arrived after the blaze had gained headway and could do little to stop the damage, guarding nearby buildings instead. No damage estimate was available this afternoon.
