Food relief offers wide variance in Ohio counties
Ohio relief commission figures show food allowances far below subsistence levels in many counties. Monthly per case ranges from $6.87 in Alfen to $46.58 in Holmes with15 counties under $10, and 19 counties in $15 to $20. Only seven counties exceed $39 monthly, while Muskingum reports an $8 subsistence level for a family of four. Wide disparities persist due to the relief law’s population and spending formula.
