State to establish park in Cedar Swamp area near Urbana

State Conservation Commissioner L A Wooddell told Champaign and Clark County interests the state is ready to set up a state park in Cedar Swamp south of Urbana. The plan favors leasing land for up to ten years or until funds are available to buy about 200 acres. A $15 000 appropriation for land acquisition was cut from the budget by the conference committee, so initial steps would rely on leasing the swamp and surrounding land.
