Truck overturn spills asphalt sealant on West Ridge Road
A Carlisle Township truck driver escaped serious injury when his tanker overturned on West Ridge Road Sunday around 1 p.m. spilling about 1,000 gallons of asphalt sealant. Rob ert Morris of Elyria stated he swerved to avoid another car. Fire crews washed the sealant from the road and Morris received minor injuries at Elyria Memorial Hospital.

Man and fiancee escape as train demolishes 1985 Ford Escort
Leonard Thompson and Frances Carter of Lorain narrowly escaped death when Thompson’s 1985 Ford Escort stalled on Cooper Foster Park Road railroad tracks. The train hit the car at about 60 mph, flipping it three times. Thompson freed Carter and both fled uninjured. no citations were issued.
