Gonzalez to stand trial for robbery in Lorain on Oct 17
Lorain man Damian Gonzalez age 30 faces a October 17 trial on robbery charges following a June 30 incident. Indicted July 31 by a Lorain County grand jury, Gonzalez previously had two prior felony cases dismissed after victims declined to testify, including a December stabbing case and an April 1983 alleged robbery torture.

Trial Set For Suspect In Cur Title Scheme
Elyria one of six residents charged in a title transfer scam is set for trial November 19 on nine counts. Larry Mercure, 28, of 336 12th Street, Elyria, indicted July 31 on three counts of possession of criminal tools, three counts of unlawful certificate of title, and three counts of uttering. He is free on a 15000 dollar bond. The case involves junk cars shipped to West Virginia for titles then rebuilt in Ohio for resale. Police investigate possible use of stolen parts in the rebuilt autos. Pre-trial hearings for the other five defendants were continued by Judge Joseph Cirigliano.
