Torrential Southern California wildfire forces mass evacuations

More than 82,000 people from about 34,500 homes fled a fast moving Cajon Pass fire east of Los Angeles as flames scorched 14 square miles and shut a section of Interstate 15. Wrightwood residents and others were evacuated while six firefighters faced danger saving homes. In Northern California a separate fire near Clearlake allowed 4,000 residents to return, amid arson investigations into the weekend Lower Lake blaze linked to a suspected arsonist, Damin Anthony Pashilk.
