Dixmoor riot pits 1000 Black youths against white motorists
In Dixmoor Illinois a major civil unrest event erupted after a liquor store dispute. About 1000 to 2000 Black participants clashed with 200 plus police and fire units. Tear gas, hoses, and peppered gunfire were used as windows were smashed and looting occurred. Several injuries reported including a Black man struck by gunfire. Authorities reported 60 plus hurt as cars were attacked and stores looted over the weekend unrest.

Bus crash in French Alps kills 17 campers and counselors
