Galaxy dubbed cosmic super mom births stars at record pace
A distant galaxy, about 5.7 billion light years away, forms roughly 740 new stars per year far outpacing the Milky Way. Using NASA's Chandra X Ray telescope, researchers note this galaxy sits at the center of a cluster emitting the brightest X ray glow seen in such galaxies and marks an unusual star forming rate for this type.
