Poliomyelitis Case Reported in Lorain County
In Lorain County Health District a 20 month old child, Dennis Novak of Main Street South Amherst, was diagnosed with poliomyelitis at City Hospital Cleveland. Two Persons Hurt When Car Skids Near Wellington
On Route 58 about three miles south of Wellington at 5:30 yesterday afternoon two people were taken to Allen Memorial Hospital. Mathew W. Burton 25 of Cincinnati suffered scalp lacerations and his mother Sarah Burton 66 from Cincinnati had bruises and chest and shoulder injuries. The car slid on greasy pavement and went into a ditch while Burton wife Della and two daughters Sharon and Janet were in Lorain. the wife and daughters were not injured.

Car Overturns. Driver Escapes Injury Near Route 113
Stanislaw of Amherst miraculously escaped serious injury when his car overturned about two and a half miles north of Route 113 at 9:30 last evening. He told the State Highway Patrol he tried to avoid a southbound car, struck the curb and lost control. the car was badly damaged but he was uninjured.

A two car collision on Route 301 north of LaGrange left Donna Bowman with a skull laceration and a concussion, while Alberta Sprinkle sustained minor injuries and Clifford Bowman and Mrs Waller Sprinkle were treated for minor injuries at Elyria Memorial Hospital. The 1949 Cadillac clipped the 1947 Ford as Bowman tried to pass, sending both cars into a ditch and a tree. Bowman is listed in critical condition. two others were treated and released.

Dorothy Carpenter 24 wife of Lee Carpenter of Grafton Township died of poliomyelitis last evening at Arcrons City Hospital after being taken there on August.
