Job openings hit 13-year high in June
U S employers in June advertised 4.67 million job openings the most since February 2001, evidence of a strengthening labor market but with hiring growth lagging. The JOLTS report shows openings up 2.1 percent from May, while hiring rose to 4.83 million. Analysts cite skill gaps and wage pressures as factors.
