Sheffield Lake man charged in $2.9 million embezzlement case
Joseph Satava III, 69, a former manager at Medical Mutual, is charged in U S District Court with one count of theft or embezzlement for allegedly diverting 2.9 million from August 1997 to November. A plea agreement reportedly has been reached after months of negotiations.

Teen beaten after Corn Festival in North Ridgeville
A 16 year old Elyria Catholic High School junior was attacked near Center Ridge Road after the North Ridgeville Corn Festival as five teens in a gold car demanded a phone memory card. He was punched and knocked down and may require plastic surgery. Police are investigating with details from the victim’s father John Vincenzo.

Free meals for Clearview students
Clearview Schools will offer free breakfasts and lunches as classes resume. Board members approved the expansion citing the district as low income.
