State Conference Sets Firefighting Demonstration in Akron
The 21st annual Ohio State Firefighters Association conference centers on an atomic fire defense demonstration at the Akron Fire Department Training Center on Friday Aug 22 at 2 p.m. The event features a parade with bands and marching corps and will include lectures on fighting fires involving atomic materials radiation contamination and protective measures. Lorain County crews and many other departments will attend across a schedule of honors memorials a 6:30 p.m. banquet and a fire truck rodeo at Akron Municipal Airport.

Failure To Stop Charged After Rt. 6 Accident
John Maloevasig of Cleveland was cited by the State Highway Patrol for failure to stop within an assured clear distance after his car rear ended Maniyn A. Garkish on Route 6. Garkish, 24, was stopping to turn into a private drive when the collision occurred. Maloevasig, 55, appeared in Loran Municipal Court on August 19.
