Fire blocks Glacier Park route forcing chalet guests to choose
A lightning sparked wildfire near Sperry Chalet in Glacier National Park cut the return trail for 39 of 42 guests and left three behind. Those leaving face an eight to 10 hour hike over a rugged 13 mile route crossing two passes to the park’s eastern side. The remaining guests must endure limited amenities as they shelter without electricity and with spotty cell service.
